World Series-winning pitcher Justin Verlander recently purchased a beautiful new Ferrari 488 Pista.
Verlander is the currently the 4th highest-paid player in the MLB; he signed a $180-million contract with the Detroit Tigers and was later traded to the Houston Astros. So it doesn’t come as a shock that the star pitcher decided it was time for a luxury supercar. And a look at his Instagram account makes it clear that this wasn’t an impulse purchase for Verlander; he is a long-time car-collector, and he posted a photo of his stylish Fusion Eleanor Mustang earlier in the year.
His newest acquisition is even more impressive and will arrive custom-designed. Verlander utilized Ferrari’s Tailor Made Program to design his bespoke Ferrari supercar.
Details regarding interior and exterior styling are still unknown, but we do know that the MLB superstar will enjoy plenty of power under the hood of his Ferrari 488. The vehicle is equipped with a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 720 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque.
Bit of a fastball, really.
