A marriage-based Green Card interview is typically scheduled around 9 months after USCIS filing. You can use this time to prepare well for your interview to avoid denial of your application.
It is important to be punctual and arrive on time for your interview.
If you don’t know the answer to a question, just say you don’t know it. Do not try to give an answer that you are unsure of. Answer straight and to the point. Do not give the Officer any information s/he didn’t ask for.
Some of the required accompanying documents that you need to bring with you to the interview are birth certificates of children you had together, joint bank/credit card account statements, common photographs, wedding pictures, joint financial documentation, and any important mail addressed to either of you at the home address. Ask an experienced immigration lawyer for assistance.
Sample Interview Questions include:
Where did you meet?
Where did you go on dates?
Who proposed to whom?
What did your parents think about the match?
Where was your honeymoon?
Where was your wedding venue?
Other questions might include specifics about extended family members, the place where you live, your spouse’s employment history etc.
Consult an experienced immigration lawyer to make sure you are well prepared for your Green Card interview.
