“What a remarkable time to have you ‘Meet us at the Beach’!” – Miami Beach Mayor Phillip Levine
From June 23rd to June 26th, thanks to the efforts of our outstanding mayor, Philip Levine, Miami Beach hosts the annual US Conference of Mayors (USCM), bringing together mayors from 250 US cities and some South America and Caribbean representatives.
With the slogan, “Meet us at the Beach”, Miami Beach will show off its natural beauty, a variety of sophisticated hotels, outstanding architecture, numerous art and cultural centers, museums, the best restaurants, its daily festivities and nightlife, and the friendliness of Miami residents!
“You will discover that our city is like no other. Offering tremendous natural beauty, top quality of life, thriving art culture and exhilarating business opportunities – Miami Beach is simply beyond bold!” – Philip Levine
This 85th edition of the conference is expected to exceed the number of attendees from all previous years, since no one wants to miss an opportunity to be in Miami.
One of the highlights of Miami’s USCM is a special lunch hosted by Mayor Levine to his esteemed counterparts, to discuss the pressing issues of climate change, especially rising sea levels, and the methods Miami Beach is employing to meet them head on.
According to Tom Cochran, CEO and executive director of USCM, Miami is an ideal place for this conference, as it confronts the challenges imposed by climate change and addresses them directly. Miami is setting an example for other US cities by taking action!
Partnering with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), USCM organized private tours for the visiting mayors and their families, as well as sports on the beach, excursions to traditional neighborhoods and much more.
“The actions we take now will shape our future.” – Mayor Levine
