All Aboard! The Boat Show Sets Sail

The Miami International Boat Show is one of the world’s largest boat and yachting events. With more than 2,000 exhibitors and over 3,000 elegant world-class vessels, the Miami International Boat Show is a jewel of the South Florida winter season.  Not only the nautical industry and boating enthusiasts flock to The 305 to see and be seen, but also high-profile entertainment and sports figures, plus plenty of “snow birds”, come to enjoy the VIP ambiance.

2016’s edition was necessarily expanded, adding two new locations:  historic Marine Stadium park and basin and Miamarina at Bay Side Market Place.  Two amazing new venues also debuted during the festivities.  The River Yacht Club, in the gentrifying Miami River district, is a “membership-driven culinary/lifestyle venue“.  Its beautiful grand opening event was sponsored by Van Dutch, which also provided water taxi transportation between the Yachts Miami Beach portion of the show on Collins Avenue, the Marine Stadium basin and Fisher Island, via the River Yacht Club.

The second new venue is also destined to be a very hot place to hang out and experience the luxurious life:  The Island Gardens Deep Harbour on Watson Island welcomed 20 superyachts, valued in excess of $800 million, and launched as the inaugural invitation-only, Superyacht Miami… a new annual addition to the Miami International Boat Show family, geared toward the “one percent of the one percent”.“Our goal is to establish Miami as the American hub on the elite yachting circuit, along with Monaco, St. Tropez, Sardinia and St. Barts,” says Mehmet Bayraktar, chairman and CEO of Flagstone Property Group, which is developing Island Gardens’ marina lounge concept, The Deck.

Calling all Super Yachts:  Now our Magic City, Miami, is yours!  Welcome!
